Hi my name is Jackie and the owner of Dharma Canine Collective. I started Dharma after being a ER and ICU Vet Tech and pet sitter for many years caring for various dog breeds and temperaments as well as owning my fair share of “problem dogs”. Through working with various dog trainers I realized that working through basic obedience to behavioral challenges both inspired me and was truly rewarding. This guided me to complete my education in canine behavior science and training. Through this process, I realized that there is little to no options that offer boarding or dog sitting experiences that tie together training, socialization, and enrichment activities that support each individual dog’s genetics. Why is this important? Most dogs and particularly working dogs were bred for specific purposes and by allowing them to embrace there natural instincts in safe ways actually calms their nervous system, builds confidence, and gives them the mental, emotional, and physical fufillment every dog deserves. Dharma’s meaning is to hold and support ethically with compassion and truthfulness. This serves as the foundation of what I offer to pet parents and their canine companions. Dogs that fall under the “working dog category” need more than your average dog and more than your average Joe can provide.
